We often forget to thank those who are so vital to the game that we love. Most people spend their days hovering between beloved and hated, but referees don’t get that pleasure, they are either hated or completely forgotten about. That’s the transparency required to be one of the few who are good enough to monitor the best sport on the planet.
Three days ago we lost one of those invisible men to cancer.
Rest in peace.

Crazy Ass Dream
Driving in my car, on my way home from hanging with my girl. I decide not to go straight home, so I detour and start randomly driving. I end up in a wooded, mountainous area. I’m vibing to the music and then two black cars - one was a suburban or something similar and the other was like a Mini Cooper or fiat - zoom past me. So I follow em (idk why - I’m always really adventurous in my dreams).
They realize I’m following em and they split and speed off. I give up chase and head back home (or what direction I think home is). All of a sudden, they show up behind me. I think nothing of it. Then I try to shake em and they really are following me. So I call 911 and I just say these dudes are following me. So the 911 operator already knew my name and address and he was like “well, you know you didn’t pay that last ticket so I’m issuing a warrant that’ll be waiting for you when you get here.” I’m like bruh… what the fuck. You ain’t even help me! Then he said “oh yeah… Units are on the way.” Right as he said that, i see two cops… and they’re going the opposite way and then they disappear. I freaked and yelled wrong way, dumbasses!
So I check my rear view and the two black cars are gone so I pull into some ridiculous 15 story log cabin hotel (no bullshit, it was in the dream, standing alone, looking creepy so ain’t no way in fuck I was going in) and wait, hoping they don’t find me. I look up and the small car is doing a u-turn in front of the hotel. I rush to start my car as this nigga is getting outta the car beside me and NO SHIT, “BIG BLACK” CHRISTOPHER BOYKIN FROM FUCKIN ROB & BIG GETS OUT THIS CLOWN SIZED CAR LOOKIN MEAN AS FUCK. I couldn’t see a weapon, but he’s so fucking massive, he could’ve hidden anything. So I peel the fuck outta there and drive into some fucking lodging maze. It’s hard to explain but here goes:
The walls were made of boards and it was built on a slight hill. At the top of the hill, there were multiple rooms for people to stay in… but all the rooms were like apartments and they were inhabited by FUCKING GIANTS. No bullshit.
So I’m sitting outside my car (idk why cause it’s 2am and raining) and I decide it’s safe to drive home so then I wake up before I get home, realize it was a freaky ass dream, get too hype cause I still ain’t gotta pay that ticket (the bail would’ve been $89.96 according to the 911 operator lol), and figure out how to record my dream (audio or text).
So yeah. Crazy fucking dream.
